An interactive workshop will engage residents and help them to reconnect with their childhood. “A Walk Down Memory Lane” provides a enriching forum for reminiscing about the toys and games of the past, from the 1930s -1960s.  45 minutes

TEDDY BEAR TEA

November 20, 2018, 11:10am & 1:10pm 

Celebrate teddy bears with a unique distance learning tea party. Bring snacks and tea and Queen Marlene will share stories about some of her favorite toys.  Be sure to bring your favorite toys so that you can share your stories too.  30 minutes

Learn about toys from long ago and then have a chance to create a group toy invention project.   Great for grades kindergarten - high school. Bring paper and pencil to write down ideas for the project.  50 minutes

BOOKS AND TOYS

 May 14th, 2019, 12:10pm and 2:10pm

Toys and books make the perfect distance learning companion program. Learn about toys from the past and the books that helped tell their stories. From Raggedy Ann and Howdy Doody to today’s modern day children’s stories such as Sesame Street books featuring Elmo and Big Bird. For younger grades, several books will be read aloud. For the older groups, a discussion about what makes the books so appealing.

50 minutes   

Grade Range: 1-4
